Wild carrot, Dancus carota, (also known as Queen Anne's Lace) is a delicate wild flower, but also as tough as old boots, surviving just about anywhere. Gracing hedgerows, woodlands, wildflower meadows, grasslands and sandy coastal regions, it's been used worldwide for centuries due to it's detoxifying, toning and revitalising properties. The seeds have been used since the sixteenth century in Britain as a hangover cure!
I personally love this flower, heralding the coming of summer, and it's part of Sugar Hill's design, reflecting our natural origins and ethos.
This wild plant is also known as a great skin treatment. Carrot seed oil is one of the best oils for skin health. It supports cell rejuvenation and protects against environmental stress, keeping skin soft and smooth. It also helps ageing skin maintain elasticity.
As we're all about the senses, wild carrot seed oil has also been used in perfumery, it has an earthy, orris-root like scent. The facial cleansing bars we're developing contain this delicate oil, jasmine, and lots of organic fairtrade avocado oil.
